Apple released its highly anticipated iPhone 13 series last week and we witnessed one of the epic launches of a smartphone. Although there was one particular bug related to Apple’s iPhone 13 not getting unlocked using the Apple Watch, Apple was quick enough to address the issue and fix the problem.

Coming to the iPhone 13 itself, the device offers solid value however it appears that the manufacturing of the latest iPhone comes at quite the cost to Apple. A new report has surfaced online that reveals the iPhone 13 Pro’s estimated build cost, and frankly, we are shocked.

According to sources, the iPhone 13 Pro costs Apple an estimated $570 to build, which is quite a bit more than the iPhone 12 Pro whose manufacturing cost was reported to be US$548.50 and we even have Samsung’s Galaxy S21+ with its manufacturing cost of US$508.

Apple is selling its latest iPhone 13 Pro model for an MSRP of US$999, which is the same as last year’s iPhone 12 Pro though the device cost more than its predesseccor. The estimated build cost translates to 57% of the phone’s MSRP, and this is the most surprising part on Apple’s side since the Cupertino-based tech giant has a habit of always hunting for bigger profit margins across its mobile products.

It’s important to note that build costs provided by the report from Tech Insights are typically for the phones’ Bill of Materials. As a result, marketing, research, and other such costs are not factored in.
