Apple’s explanation about Why Google is the default search engine on its products

The CEO of Apple Tim Cook has shared his opinion at the EU data protection conference CPDP in this morning. The senior director of global privacy Jane Harvath was asked a question about how Google is the default search engine on Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and other devices.

We know that data privacy is the main concern of Apple so that they have done many changes in its software to prevent third-party apps from collecting user data without user concern.

In this topic, Harvath said that if users continue with the current norm which included trade-off privacy that is providing an unlimited number of personal data to enjoy the free services. He also said that the approach which Apple has taken is a false dichotomy. In the upcoming App of Apple, they will be a feature for tracking transparency that will give the users the facility of hand to opt-in or out if they are willing to track the data.

This new feature of Apple will be released early in the Spring, and it will also play an important role for the developers and the company. The main conflict with Apple is that it does not have any idea of taking off the ads to the account and the service of individuals with it. IDFA is used by the company and uses a security-focused first-party ad network.

Tim Cook’s remarks and Harvath have included that a loopless law for data security should be created by the United States that already shows its effect worldwide. But there is always a question why Apple doesn’t make DuckDuckGo a default search engine on iPhone, iPad, and other devices instead of Google, in response, Harvath explained that it’s true Google is a default search engine.

Still, there is always an option open for the users to change it to the other search engines, where DuckDuckGo is also included. But the main fact is the search engine giant Google pays billions of dollars to Apple to be the default search engine in Safari. On Apple’s service side, this has also reflected very well.
