A fresh set of CAD renders have outed the design and detailed specifications for Apple’s next-gen, high-end smartwatch: The upcoming Apple Watch Series X. Biggest change is the 2-inch display, bigger than Apple Watch Ultra Gen 3 and Series 9. More information from the CAD renders can be read on, so continue reading.
The Upcoming Apple Watch Series X
Following an early glimpse of the Apple Watch Series X with crisp renders inspired by a number of rumors pointing to smaller bezels and the same shape as previous models, 91mobiles has now taken another close look at CAD images for additional context. We expect the design to remain mostly unchanged, complete with a Digital Crown and side button in place.
The biggest change is the screen. Not to mention years of predicting the design and appearance next-generation Apple Watch, in which we are about 100 percent sure that Ming-Chi Kuo says it will come out measuring between 45mm and 49mm.
Other than the circular shape, all of this is at least conceivable, particularly when trimming down any extra bezelling that has plagued some older Apple Watch models. Also, there are rumors that magnets will be employed in the new band connection system. We covered this in a separate report, which mentioned that the slappers are based on an older design where part of the watch’s frame is used as one-half of its band system.
An Apple Watch Series X with a magnetic band connection could free up some internal space and leave more room for a larger battery, among other components. However, based on the CAD renders, this new design might not be implemented this year, but there is hope. Apple introduced a significant design revamp with the iPhone X on its tenth anniversary, so there is reason to believe the company might introduce some changes in appearance for the Apple Watch Series X as well.
