The principal developers are Tata Group, SPR India, and the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT). The federal government (10–15%), state governments, and business owners all contribute to the funding mechanism.

Women from various places who work in the factories are the primary occupants of the houses. The age range of many of these women is 19 to 24.

Those who work in the factories are largely comprised of them. Apple aims to support its employees by constructing these homes close to their places of employment. To get to work, a lot of them currently have to travel far from the rental properties they live in.

Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity) secretary S Krishnan was quoted in the report as saying, “That is why you need to ensure that they are given good-quality housing somewhere close to the factory as that improves productivity, conditions of work and it also results in better welfare outcomes for the workers.”
