Apple to bring its 27-inch iMac Pro with mini-LED in next year spring

Rumours about a new 27-inch iMac Pro continue to spread, with a new report from Display Supply Chain Consultants revealing some details about an upcoming Mac that will replace the current 27-inch Intel model.

Apple is expected to release a 27-inch iMac Pro with a mini led display and ProMotion technology in the spring of 2022, according to this report, which is also when the company is expected to release the Universal Control feature.

Although DSCC isn’t the first company to speculate on the size or technology available on this rumoured iMac Pro display, it’s almost a confirmation because its analysts typically have inside information on-screen manufacturers. If the iMac Pro comes with a mini LCD, it will be the third Apple product to do so, after the M1 iPad Pro and the new M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported last week in his Power On the email that Apple is planning to release a “revamped, high-end iMac with Apple Silicon” in 2022. Gurman previously stated that the business had to postpone the launching of this iMac to focus on the 24-inch M1 iMac.

As of today, leaker Dylandkt has revealed a lot of details on the impending iMac Pro. Dylan believes that, like the current MacBook Pro, this new Mac will come standard with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Users will now have the option of selecting between the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

“There may be an added configuration,” the leaker wrote, “but at this moment I can’t say for sure.” An HDMI port, SD card slot, and USB-C connections are all said to be included in this iMac Pro. This one is expected to include Ethernet on the charging brick standard, just like the 24-inch iMac. Face ID was also tried on this Mac, according to Dylan, though this has yet to be confirmed.

The DSCC study also reveals a crucial detail about Apple’s planned augmented reality headset:

There have been numerous reports regarding this, but volume forecasts for next year appear to be low, implying that the price will be high.

Not only that, but the story mentions Apple foldable gadgets as well as OLED iPad and MacBook models, which are “not expected until 2023 at the earliest, 2024 more likely.”
