According to a blog post by Kuo, it is anticipated that Apple to begin production of iPhone 17. Foxconn—which controls 80% of the iPhone assembly lines in India—is anticipated to shift up to 85% of its production from China to Taiyuan and up to 45% of it from Zhengzhou. Currently, up to 14% of all iPhone models—including the iPhone 15—that are supplied worldwide are made in India. By 2024, that figure is predicted to increase by up to 25%.

The new product introduction (NPI) of the regular iPhone 17 is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2025, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known expert on Apple products. This change in the NPI’s location from China to India deviates from the traditional Chinese development sites.

Additionally, Kuo made note of how “critical” it will be for Apple to grow over the next ten years in its partnership with Tata, one of the smartphone assemblers. Tata is anticipated to work with Pegatron and Foxconn to support the nation’s iPhone production.

This action demonstrates Apple’s commitment to growing its market share in India. In addition to being a kind gesture, Apple’s future strategic interests lie in fortifying its ties with the Indian government.
