Apple plans to make some significant announcements at WWDC 2023 this year. There are also rumors that the new M2 MacBooks will be unveiled at the event. And now, it appears that the Cupertino tech giant has begun work on its next-generation M3 CPUs since information about the same has recently surfaced. Read on to learn more.

The rumored M3 Pro has 36GB of RAM and 12 CPU cores in addition to 18 GPU cores. According to reports, it has six cores with excellent performance and six cores with efficiency, similar to the M2 Pro. This equates to improvements similar to those found when moving from an M1 Pro to an M2 Pro.

In addition, the M3 Pro chipset will include 4GB more RAM than its predecessor. According to the source, the chip is being tested with a future MacBook Pro running a future version of macOS.

According to the same data as the M3 Pro, the M3 Max and M3 Ultra chipsets can also be expected to receive an upgrade. 14 CPU cores and 40 GPU cores are available in the M3 Max. The M3 Ultra can fit up to 80 GPU cores and 28 CPU cores. Apple is anticipated to use TSMC’s 3nm fabrication technology for the M3 Pro chipsets to accomplish this feat due to the higher core density.

Users are likely to be excited by Apple’s decision to test the upcoming M3 Pro chip. At the same time, Apple will be able to better prepare its M3 processors for compatibility with third-party apps by the time they are available thanks to the early phase testing.

Gurman previously made a suggestion that the next M3 processors are anticipated to be released in the first quarter of 2024 with new iMacs, a new 15-inch MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and much more. And as of right now, he anticipates seeing the first M3 Macs around the end of this year or the beginning of next perhaps with the regular M3 chip. During WWDC 2023, some intriguing information is to be expected. Overall, there is a lot for everyone to anticipate from Apple this year.
