Apple is “actively testing” a gadget with a 9-inch foldable OLED display with a PPI somewhere between the iPhone and the iPad, according to Kuo on Twitter. This gadget is ostensibly being used to test and assess the major technologies involved in Apple’s foldable, and it may or may not contain the specifications of any final retail version.

Apple would release a foldable iPhone as soon as 2024

Apple’s foldable product development, according to Kuo, will initially focus on medium-sized devices, followed by devices with larger displays, and lastly compact devices like the iPhone. Kuo also updated his prediction from last year that stating that it is now evident that this prediction should be pushed back to 2025 at the earliest. Apple’s first foldable device might be a combination of iPhone and iPad, or simply a folding iPad, according to him.

The iPhone maker is partnering with LG to build a foldable OLED display panel with ultra-thin cover glass for future Apple tablets and notebooks, according to a report from The Elec. Kuo’s comments came in response to the allegation. Apple is studying all-screen foldable notebooks with displays around 20 inches in size, according to display analyst Ross Young, who first sparked suspicions about the company working on huge foldable devices in February.
