The Information is reporting that Apple has suspended iPhone 14 Plus production and is reevaluating demand, suggesting that the 14 Plus is not off to a great start as early rumours claimed.
Rumours regarding iPhone 14 Plus
The current rumour alleges that Apple has contacted two component suppliers to immediately suspend production of the 14 Plus and has also spoken with at least one iPhone assembly partner to immediately halt manufacturing of the 14 Plus, according to sources in the supply chain. The report also states that at least one iPhone supplier has been told to increase component output for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max versions.
We can only presume that iPhone purchasers are not searching for an $899 non-Pro handset since Apple has not made any formal comments about these developments.
The price difference between the iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 14 Pro is only $100 for the former and $200 for the latter. The Information claims that Apple will still likely unveil an iPhone 15 Plus next year despite the lingering uncertainty surrounding the iPhone 14 Plus.
