Apple October 13 Event Rumor: 3 Products Expected, From a Smart Home Hub to Apple TV 4K

Apple fans, mark your calendars with a pencil, not a pen. A fresh rumor says the company will hold an event on Tuesday, October 13, and the lineup sounds cozy: a new smart home hub, a second-generation HomePod mini and a long-awaited Apple TV 4K refresh. Apple has not announced anything officially, so let us walk through what is being reported, who is reporting it and what is still guesswork.

What the Apple October 13 Event Rumor Says

The report comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, as summarised by MacRumors on September 30, 2026, and the date has since been echoed by Apple news accounts on X. According to those summaries, the event may be online only, streamed on Apple’s website and YouTube, followed by hands-on sessions for the media. That format would resemble the company’s October 2023 Mac event.

The Three Products, in Plain English

The smart home hub. Think of it as a small screen for your kitchen counter or living room that controls lights, speakers and cameras, shows your calendar and plays video calls. The report suggests its new interface is the reason Apple might want a keynote video instead of a quiet press release. The name “HomePad” is a nickname used by rumor accounts, not an Apple-confirmed product name.

HomePod mini 2. The current mini is a favourite for affordable smart speakers. A second generation would be a natural upgrade for audio and smart home features, though the rumor does not list specifications, and we will not guess at them.

Apple TV 4K refresh. The set-top box has been waiting for an update, and the report calls it “long awaited”. A new model would likely tie into the home hub and the wider Apple ecosystem, but again details are thin.

Why This Date Looks Plausible

Gurman’s track record on Apple’s schedules is strong, and the article notes that another well-known Apple commentator, John Gruber, had earlier speculated about October 13 as the date when review units for an upcoming device might be handed out. When two separate hints line up, the date becomes more believable, but it does not become official. MacRumors says that if an event is happening, Apple would normally send invitations about a week ahead.

What Is Not Confirmed

Apple has not announced an event, a date or any of the three products. Prices, colours, chips and release dates are all unknown. Other rumors circulating on social media about extra devices, such as a new iPad mini or MacBook updates, are separate stories with different timelines, and we cover them in our Apple coverage.

What Indian Buyers Should Watch

Smart home gadgets from Apple often reach India a little later than the United States, and features such as Siri language support or local services can differ. If you are planning to buy a smart speaker or streaming box this festive season, it may be worth waiting a couple of weeks to see whether Apple’s launch changes the price of older models.
