The Cupertino giant had an amazing 2020 with the unveiling of its own Apple Silicon, aka Apple M1 chip, that has totally stirred the market with its performance, drawing as much as just 10W power using an industry-leading 5nm process.

A new report arises that Apple might launch two new MacBook Pros – 13 inches and 16 inches with an M2 chip. Strangely, we expected to be some M1X chip that would have landed on Mac desktops as well. However, reports from Gizmochina say that Apple is planning a new and more powerful chipset for Mac devices — Apple M2.

New reports from China hints that Apple will be launching a new M2 chipset based on the same 5nm process, powering the upcoming MacBook Pros. Whereas in the year 2022, Apple is looking to make a shift to mini-LED and all of its MacBooks will be switching to better displays.

The report even claimed that Apple would be launching a couple of GaN chargers in 2021. Given that Apple is on a surge to make itself independent, I won’t be surprised if it makes more chips as it gives better results at lower costs.
