Apple has officially launched its Podcast Subscription service. Apple previously sent an email to podcasters notifying them about the service launch. This new service is meant to support creators through monthly subscriptions.
Apple had announced its Podcast Subscription service at its Spring Loaded event held in April. The launch comes much delayed but Apple has made sure of its best in class user experience. Listeners can now subscribe to their favorite shows and enjoy an ad-free experience along with tonnes of bonus content.
Notably, Apple will be charging a 30 percent commission on the total subscription fee. Podcasters will still be able to make 70 percent of the subscription fee that their subscribers will pay.
But if the subscribers use third-party podcast clients, they will not be able to enjoy the full benefits of their purchase. The Apple Podcast Subscriptions service is also allowing podcasters to create their own channels and upload a collection of shows on a single page.
