Apple is testing new iPhone 13 Face ID Hardware that works with Masks & Foggy Glasses: Report

Apple is testing its new Face ID sensor array keeping in mind this COVID-like scenario. According to reports, Apple has developed a prototype case that fits around iPhone 12 that they are using to test a new Face ID array. This case fits around the iPhone 12 and has a set of visible extra sensor arrays that bypasses the original Face ID of the phone and uses the new hardware instead.

This prototype has been seen by FrontPageTech and in order to keep the identity of its source safe they have created 3D renders to represent what we were shown from almost 75 prototypes.

According to FrntPageTech, the prototype array in the outer case of the iPhone 12 matches the same layout that was seen in the iPhone 13 CAD files that were made public back in June. In the renders, we can see that this time the front camera is moved to the left side, unlike the iPhone 12 series.

The Face ID array inside the prototype case is slightly narrower than the iPhone 12’s inbuilt sensor arrays. This indicates that iPhone 13 will be the one to have this new Face ID sensor.

As per the report, Apple employees are being asked to wear masks AND glasses internally to test the new hardware. This will further help to strengthen the sensor readings as sources claim that the testing is being done pretty intensely with several indoor/outdoor tests that include every style of eyeglasses and mask.

After all these testings Apple might reveal its new array of sensors that will be able to identify a person with his mask and glass on. This will bend towards a new future.
