Apple has officially announced the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models along with its Pro versions named – iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Here we will discuss about the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus smartphones.
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus Features and Specifications
Both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus smartphones retain the previous design of the iPhone 13 series which includes the iconic notch and dual camera design at the back.
Most importantly, we are getting the same a-year-old Apple’s A15 Bionic chipset on both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus smartphones.
The iPhone 14 comes with a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 14 Plus offers a big 6.7-inch screen. Both smartphones come with a Super Retina XDR display. Along with a bigger screen size the Plus model is also claimed to have a better battery life than the vanilla version. Apple claims 26 hours of continuous video playback time with these two devices.
As a unique feature to differentiate this iPhone 14 series from the previous one we are getting Emergency SOS and Crash Detection as two new features, which were announced at yesterday’s Apple Event. These features will be free for two years with iPhone 14 models.
Emergency SOS will allow users to send emergency messages via communication satellites when they’re out of range of a cell signal. The phone’s antennas can connect to satellite frequencies and it can take less than 15 seconds to send a message with a clear view of the sky. Apple iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus both come with an ultrawide and a new 12-megapixel main camera with f/1.5 aperture and sensor-based stabilization at the back. Apple claims there’s a 49% improvement in low-light image quality and says that Night Mode is twice as fast now. There’s also a new 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera with autofocus at the front. Apple is claiming to apply its Deep Fusion image processing earlier in the image pipeline, improving low-light performance and color rendering, a technology Apple is calling “Photonic Engine.”
Video recording also gets a new stabilization mode called Action Mode that uses the whole sensor for gimbal-esque steadiness in some ultimate shakey environment.
