Apple iPhone 14 series rumoured to come with an all-new Purple shade

Although the iPhone 14 series is still a few months away from release, big leaks have already surfaced, revealing the device’s design, camera specifications, and SoC specifics. Now, a new leak has surfaced, revealing the colour options for the forthcoming iPhones.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will supposedly be available in black, white, blue, red, and purple on launch, according to a now-deleted Weibo post noticed by AppleTrack, while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will allegedly be available in graphite, gold, silver, and purple.

The purple colour option for both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will have a unique finish that varies tone based on lighting conditions, according to the rumour. Aside from that, the iPhone 14 models will include a new True Tone flash that appears like “a little circle in a big circle,” according to the report.

When unveiling new iPhone models in recent years, Apple has included eye-catching new colour options among more muted tones. Given that Apple introduced a Purple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini in a mid-cycle refresh in April last year to positive customer response, and the 24-inch iMac, sixth-generation iPad mini, and fifth-generation iPad Air are all available in Purple, a purple colour option for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro seems plausible.

Apple is rumoured to be ditching the notch in favour of a punch hole and a pill-shaped cutout to house the Face ID hardware and front camera in the iPhone 14 series. In terms of the front-facing camera, the entire iPhone 14 lineup will get an upgraded sensor with f/1.9 aperture and autofocus capability.

The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are also expected to have an updated rear camera arrangement, with the primary sensor likely being a 48-megapixel wide lens with support for 8K video recording. According to the previously released renders, this will result in a bigger camera bump for smartphones.
