Apple Event 2021: iPad Mini now has A15 Bionic, 8.3″ display, 5G, and more

Apple showcases lots of new products today on the Apple Event 2021. The new iPad Mini is one of those. This new device gets a new touch from Apple in almost every aspect. The bezels are narrower, and the rounded corners hold a bigger 8.3″ inch display this time. The display also has up to 500 nits of brightness and gets an anti-reflective coating on top.

There was rumour to have a Mini LED display in the new iPad Mini. But now, it is confirmed Apple skipped it and go with the regular Liquid Retina Display. The company shifts the Touch ID to the top with the power button to provide a bigger screen, just like iPad Air.

The performance of the new iPad Mini hikes by 40% from the last generation, in CPU performance. There is also an 80% GPU and twice Neural Engine performance growth. Altogether, tasks like heavy computing, high graphics gaming, live translation, etc. are faster than ever. All thanks to the new A15 Bionic assigned inside.

The new iPad Mini is ready to go with the 5G flow in cellular connectivity and Wi-Fi 6. The display and performance are top in class already. So, how can Apple compromise in connectivity? Connectivity is not only about wireless; the wired connectivity is important too. The implementation of a USB Type-C port makes the device more versatile.

For those who need the camera the most for calls, there are upgrades for them. Apple’s most mobile tablet houses a 12MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. Users will be able to capture 4K videos from the rear camera, and the front camera is Center Stage compatible. For the audio experience, the iPad Mini has a stereo speaker setup in the landscape.

In the accessories section, this supports Apple’s 2nd Gen Apple Pencil. So, take notes, edit images, draw your thoughts in a more compact and convenient way.
