Apple confirmed to launch new Macs next month, more coming in June

The most reliable Apple journalist Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has confirmed recently that Apple will follow its 18 month SoC upgrade cycle and bring the new M2 chipset as soon as next month. This makes sense as a lot of new chips by AMD and Intel have been announced, so Apple has to stand up with its own as it has declared self-reliable.

Now, Apple is not a brand that will only announce new silicon without a product actually using it, so, it was heavily suspected that it could launch a new MacBook next month. Well, as Gurman expects at least one new Mac will be coming next month during an event rumoured to be held on Tuesday, March 8.

Interestingly, in his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman stated, “Apple is already gearing up for another round of Mac releases around May or June,” after making a new Mac available next month. Yes, it’s expected that Apple will launch a couple of devices in 2022 including its highly anticipated MacBook Air with an M2 chip.

Apple’s upcoming M2 could be launched with the 2022 MacBook Air

However, we cannot confidently say which Mac will be unveiled next month but widespread rumours point out that it might be prone to launch the budget 13-inch MacBook Pro. Also, if you remember last year Jon Prosser totally leaked the upcoming high-end Mac Mini, it is suspected that too will be launched next month with a new M2 chip.

If you are wondering what might be on cards with Apple for the next few months you will be glad to know that a redesigned MacBook Air, a new 24-inch iMac both with an M2 chipset is surely coming. On the other hand, another new ‌Mac mini‌ and a replacement for the currently Intel-based 27-inch ‌iMac‌ is on cards for Apple with existing high-end M1 Pro or M1 Max chips.

Not only this, but Apple is also set to replace its current Intel/AMD powered flagship Mac Pro with its own chips and maybe a redesigned look. It is suspected that the Cupertino giant will customize its existing M1 Max chip to feature 20 CPU cores and 64 GPU cores, followed by another chip that could feature up to 40 CPU and 128 GPU cores.
