Apple Appoints Kevan Parekh as New CFO Amid Strategic Succession Plan

In a strategic move reflecting its commitment to financial excellence and leadership continuity, Apple has announced Kevan Parekh as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective January 1, 2025. Parekh, who currently serves as Apple’s Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, will succeed Luca Maestri, who will transition from the CFO role but continue to lead the corporate services teams, reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook.

Meet Apple’s new Indian Origin CFO Kevan Parekh

Kevan Parekh brings over 11 years of invaluable experience within Apple, having played a pivotal role in steering financial strategies across various domains such as investor relations, market research, and general administration finance.

His previous leadership in the worldwide sales, retail, and marketing finance segments underscores his comprehensive understanding of Apple’s operational dynamics. Before joining Apple, Parekh honed his financial acumen in senior roles at Thomson Reuters and General Motors, where he gained significant global experience that will now inform his approach as Apple’s CFO.

Tim Cook expressed confidence in Parekh’s appointment, stating, “For more than a decade, Kevan has been an indispensable member of Apple’s finance leadership team, and he understands the company inside and out. His sharp intellect, wise judgment, and financial brilliance make him the perfect choice to be Apple’s next CFO.”

Luca Maestri, whose tenure as CFO saw Apple doubling its revenues and quintupling its services revenue, will continue to oversee critical areas such as information systems and technology, information security, and real estate and development.

Maestri’s legacy at Apple has been marked by strategic investments and a robust financial discipline that has poised the company for sustained growth. Reflecting on his journey, Maestri stated, “It is the greatest privilege of my professional life to serve the world’s most innovative and admired company, and to work side by side with a leader as inspirational as Tim Cook.”

In addition to this leadership transition, Apple has announced its upcoming major event themed “It’s Glowtime,” set for September 9, 2024, at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park. This much-anticipated event is expected to feature the unveiling of the iPhone 16 lineup, showcasing Apple’s continued innovation in the tech industry.

With Parekh stepping into his new role, Apple is poised to continue its trajectory of financial growth and innovation, reaffirming its leadership in the global technology arena. This transition not only strengthens Apple’s financial leadership but also assures stakeholders of a seamless continuation of its strategic objectives.
