AORUS 17X Enthusiast Laptop to be powered by Intel Alder Lake-HX Core i9-12900HX

AORUS has listed its flagship AORUS 17X laptop, which includes Intel Alder Lake-HX CPUs with up to 16 cores and 5 GHz clock speeds, which are yet to be revealed. The Alder Lake-HX family, which will be the first laptop CPU with up to 16 cores, has yet to be announced by Intel. While the specifications for these chips have leaked and we’ve seen some early benchmarks, it appears that AORUS has confirmed that the new offers will be replacing their current lineup.

The main features of the AORUS 17X YE laptop that have been leaked include:

  • Windows 11 Pro
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs
  • 12th Gen Intel Core i9 Processor HX-Series
  • WINDFORCE Infinity Cooling System
  • 17.3″ FHD 360Hz NTSC 72% IPS Level Panel
  • Supports DDR5
  • Thunderbolt 4

The AORUS 17X YE laptop has now been offered with Intel’s Core i9-12900HX, one of the fastest Alder Lake-HX CPUs, as reported by Momomo US. The processor has 16 cores and 24 threads, as well as 30 MB of L3 cache and a 2.3 GHz base clock. The maximum turbo rates for the P-Cores are 5.0 GHz, while the E-Cores are 3.6 GHz. The memory comprises two DDR5 slots, each with a capacity of up to 64 GB and speeds of up to 4800 Mbps, in addition to the CPU. The entire system is based on the HM670 mobile chipset.

The AORUS 17X YE laptop will be equipped with NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16 GB solution for graphics

At a rated TGP of 130W, the laptop GPU will run at a maximum boost clock of 1395 MHz. This solution will include all of the NVIDIA Max-Q technologies, including CPU optimizer, Rapid Core Scaling, Dynamic Boost 2.0, Resizable BAR, and Advanced Optimum Technology.

One thing is certain: this laptop will require a lot of cooling because of its significantly higher power consumption, which will result in significantly higher heat output. At the same time, a laptop with a 16-core 5 GHz CPU and an RTX 3080 Ti is amazing.

Dual M.2 slots (PCIe Gen4 NVME compliant) and a 280W transformer that charges the 99Wh Li-Polymer battery are among the other features. This model will have a 17.3″ Thin Bezel IPS display with Anti-Glare and an FHD IPS display with Anti-Glare. 360Hz is the refresh rate. The total weight of the unit will be roughly 2.7 kg. WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a variety of USB 3.2 ports, Thunderbolt 4, an audio combo jack, and two display outputs that include HDMI 2.1 and MiniDP 1.4 are among the I/O options. As ASUS teased for their ‘The Pinnacle of Performance’ event, Intel is slated to reveal their Alder Lake-HX CPU family in early May.
