Royal Challengers Bangalore announces Andy Flower as the Head Coach for the upcoming season
Flower’s appointment comes after RCB decided not to renew the contracts of Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar. Hesson and Bangar had been with the team for the past four seasons, and they played a key role in RCB’s success during that time.
In a statement, RCB chairman Prathmesh Mishra said: “We would like to thank Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar for their excellent work in the past four seasons. Their professionalism and work ethics have always been held in high regard. They leave us with a legacy of having given several young players the confidence to show their ability at the highest stage.”
Flower said he was “proud” to be joining RCB, and he looked forward to the challenge of taking the team to new heights. He also said he was excited to be reunited with Faf du Plessis, who he had previously coached at the Chennai Super Kings.
RCB remains committed to its pursuit of excellence on and off the field. The team is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, and it is actively working towards building a strong and competitive unit for the upcoming seasons.
