Google has just rolled out Developer Preview 2 for Android 15 bringing in a bunch of features and enhancements that many users have been eagerly waiting for. Satellite Connectivity Support: Android 15 now allows devices to send and receive messages using SMS/MMS/RCS apps through low-orbit satellites. The update includes a satellite connectivity user interface (UI), across the system enabling apps to detect when the device is linked to a satellite.

Screen Recording Detection: Apps on Android can now identify if a screen recorder is active and decide whether to block this function, which comes in handy when displaying information.

PDF Enhancements: In Android 15 DP 2 PDF capabilities are improved by handling password-protected files supporting annotations from editing, searching, and enabling text selection with the copy feature.

HDR Headroom Control: The latest version of Android adjusts HDR headroom according to the display panel’s brightness and bit depth capability for contrast dynamic range adjustments or achieving a balanced display between SDR and HDR content.
