Andreas Christensen could be on his way out of Chelsea in the summer, with time running out on his contract. Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested in signing the player when his deal runs out in the summer.

Chelsea have tried to extend his contract, and their offer is still on the table if the defender wants to renew. But, there is no agreement between the two parties for a renewal and the situation hasn’t changed from a few weeks ago.

Andreas Christensen could be on his way out this summer

The Chelsea academy graduate has been quite important for the first team under Thomas Tuchel. He has made 21 appearances across all competitions this season.

Alongside Bayern Munich and Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund are also working to sign the central defender. He recently had a change in agency, replacing his father as his representative.

But despite the new representatives, nothing has changed in his contract negotiation with Chelsea. The Dane is out of contract alongside club captain Cesar Azpilicueta and fellow central defender Antonio Rudiger.

It was recently reported that Rudiger is now in positive talks with Chelsea, after initially being frustrated with the offer that the club made. The German loves the club and would like to stay, and it seems like he will be staying at the club in the end. But the same cannot be said for Christensen.

According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, a decision surrounding the player’s future will be made soon. The player is allowed to negotiate a pre-contract with foreign clubs now that the January transfer window is open.
