Ananya Panday and Lakshya’s Chand Mera Dil Is the Bollywood Love Story May 2026 Desperately Needed

Karan Johar just announced what could be the most romantic classroom love story of the year — and the first look has already set hearts racing across the internet.

There’s something timeless about falling in love in a classroom. Chand Mera Dil knows exactly that feeling — and from the very first look, it’s clear this one is going to hit differently.

Chand Mera Dil First Look Is Out — And It’s Beautiful

Producer Karan Johar announced the release date on April 6, 2026, alongside the first look at the actors. In his caption, he penned: “A love story where…life happens faster than love. Chand Mera Dil in cinemas 22nd May, 2026.”

The carousel of images showcases the multiple phases the main characters go through in the film — they fall for each other with ease, but growing up together proves far more complicated. “When love grows faster than life… Not every first love gets a second chance…” read the new posters.

Honestly, that tagline alone is enough to get everyone’s hearts in a knot.

Chand Mera Dil: Key Film Details at a Glance

What Is Chand Mera Dil About?

The romantic drama is set against the backdrop of a classroom love story — a modern tale of two people who fall in love, but must navigate the complications that come with growing up. Since it’s a musical love story, Karan Johar has been closely involved in crafting the album, which is reportedly why the film’s release was delayed from its originally planned 2025 launch.

This is exactly the kind of romantic film that Dharma Productions has made its legacy — emotionally resonant, visually stunning, and backed by tracks that become instant classics.

Who Are the Stars?

Chand Mera Dil marks Lakshya’s return to the big screen after his 2023 action film Kill. He was most recently seen in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Meanwhile, Ananya Panday has been on a roll, having started 2025 with Kesari Chapter 2 and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri alongside Kartik Aaryan.

Both actors bring a youthful energy and natural charm that seems perfectly suited for this kind of love story.
