Get ready for some meta monster mayhem! Paul Rudd and Jack Black’s comedic take on the classic creature feature Anaconda is heading to Netflix sooner than you think. After its Christmas 2025 theatrical release, fans can catch this hilarious adventure from the comfort of their couches in late April 2026.
When Exactly Can You Stream Anaconda?
Based on Netflix’s exclusive Pay-1 window agreement with Sony Pictures, Anaconda will hit the streaming platform approximately 120 days after its theatrical release. With the film premiering in cinemas on December 25, 2025, mark your calendars for Friday, April 24, 2026—the expected Netflix release date.
This timeline applies to Netflix subscribers in the United States and India, though international availability may vary significantly by region.
What’s This Movie Actually About?
Here’s the twist: “THIS IS NOT A REBOOT,” Sony Pictures insists. Instead, it’s a brilliant meta-comedy about two best friends, Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd), whose lifelong dream is to remake their favorite movie—the original Anaconda. When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally pursue their passion, they venture deep into the Amazon rainforest to start filming.
The comedy escalates when an actual giant anaconda appears, transforming their chaotic movie set into a genuine survival situation. It’s a clever concept that pays homage to the 1997 classic while creating something entirely fresh.
