Nintendo Switch’s successor’s rumors have been going around the internet for a long time and even though the company behind the only famous handheld gaming console is yet to announce the product, people are already talking about the supposed Switch Pro or Super Nintendo Switch console every chance they get.

Though the company is currently silent on the rumors about a potential successor, it seems very likely there is a Switch sequel in the works. Shedding some more light on the topic, a poster has appeared at a Korean-language forum, and it seems like the poster maker wanted to throw out as much information about the console as possible in hopes of getting at least some of it true.

According to the alleged poster, the processor which will be used in the Nintendo Switch Pro is based on a 5 nm design, whereas the Nvidia Tegra X1 in the current Switch model utilized 20 nm (16 nm for the Tegra X1+). It also claims that the GPU will be clocked at 1 GHz, which is a good bump over the clock speed of the original Switch console. The original console boasted a maximum rate of 768 MHz.

The poster also stated that the new successor will be able to offer 120 fps at 720p. However, some unmentioned issues have led to that rate being reduced to a more believable 60 fps. Rumors also claim that in dock mode the successor has been optimized for 1440p gameplay. Nvidia’s DLSS technology is also included and also that it will either be utilized during docked mode or completely locked at launch time.

However, the poster also went as far as to claim that Nintendo wanted an AMD chip inside the Switch Pro, much like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. while it’s true that Nintendo and AMD were indeed discussing this possibility up to three years ago, however, some disagreements made Nintendo turn to Nvidia once again. Once again all these are just rumors are assumptions so don’t believe everything that you read.
