AMD’s FSR can now be enabled on GTA V, here's how to enable

The gaming industry has grown wide and strong in the market, and since the advent of the pandemic, the graphics card manufacturers have been facing off extremely hard to make their technologies more advanced. And to battle against DLSS technology, AMD released its FSR, which is the Fidelity-FX Super Resolution spatial upscaling technique.

The topic of FSR has been the most well-received and most talked about topic on the internet. Many game developers have already stated the ease of integration, but no one expected that modders would be to add the feature to even most of the existing games, which even AMD had not done.

According to sources, the feature has been added to Grand Theft Auto V. The game’s internal more upscale has been replaced with FSR and it was done without access to the open-source code. And the open sources are yet to be shared by the AMD.

Installation:

  1. Get the latest release
  2. Copy d3d11.dll and gta5_fsr.ini to Grand Theft Auto V root folder (e.g. \Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V)
  3. Go to game settings Advanced Graphics Settings and set Frame scaling mode:
    1. 0.5x – Performance Mode
    1. 0.667x – Balanced Mode
    1. 0.75x – Quality Mode
    1. 0.883x – Ultra Quality Mode
  4. Check the gta5_fsr.ini file if you need more control over mod settings

Compatibility:

ENDFiveMRAGE.MP

  1. Rename this mod d3d11.dll to d3d11_fsr.dll and edit enblocal.ini file:

EnableProxyLibrary=true

InitProxyFunctions=true

ProxyLibrary=d3d11_fsr.dll

There is also a video provided below which shows the method of adding FSR to get a much sharper image than the original upscaling method of Grand Theft Auto V.

It seems that using this method many gamers and developers will fly more towards AMD. But it seems that AMD still has to vary of Nvidia. Reports indicate that the green team is continuously expanding and improve its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) image reconstruction technique. The company even recently added an Ultra Quality mode on Unreal Engine 5.
