AMD Ryzen 5000 BIOS firmware to be out pretty soon

AMD’s Ryzen 5000 desktop CPU’s are already making a buzz in the market. With performance equal to those of intel’s high-performance chips, the 5000 series looks to give Intel a run for its money.

According to sources, various users have already access to BETA BIOS for the A320 & X370 motherboards. The BIOS allows support for AMD Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPUs. The AMD 300-series motherboards fully support the Ryzen 5000 series processors. The ASRock A320M-HDV motherboard is already an example of how the CPU works.

The motherboard runs on an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12 core processor. It is powered by 16 GB of DDR4 memory and even supports AMD’s Ryzen 4000G Renoir APUs. Sources claim that AMD has BIOS’s for X370 & A320 motherboards currently in development. But they are not expected to be launched anytime soon. The manufacturer has officially stated that Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPUs will only be supported by 400 and 500-series motherboards.

It was earlier reported that AMD Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPU would support even the  300-series motherboards. The capacity of the ROM, however, is a major limiting factor. AMD seems to be blocking AIBs for now, but the BIOS firmware is expected to be released very soon.

According to sources, Gigabyte and ASUS BIOS now support the AMD Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPUs. The BIOS has already been released and is available for download. Gigabyte is offering BETA support for a total of 16 B450 chipset based motherboards. On the other hand, ASUS is offering BETA support for a total of 16 ROG STRIX, PRIME, and TUF Gaming products. Gigabyte BIOS is named F60c, whereas ASUS’s BIOS is titled the 8501.
