Another leaked AMD Phoenix laptop APU has been identified as the Ryzen 5 7540U, which is a member of the low-power family. One of the three Phoenix U-series chips that have been unveiled thus far is the AMD Ryzen 5 7540U. The Ryzen 5 7640U and the Ryzen 7 7840U are the other two.

According to the information that is currently available, this new chip uses the Zen 4 architecture in a low-power package and is the most entry-level design in the lineup so far. Phoenix-U chips have not yet been announced by AMD, but they will probably do so around the same time as the launch of the regular Phoenix chips this month.
A tweet from Twitter user “Olrak” teases a CrossMark score from Business Applications Performance Corporation for a new Lenovo laptop with the alleged AMD Ryzen 5 7540U APU.
The model number of the Lenovo laptop, which was tested on March 22, 2023, is LNVNB161216. AMD’s Ryzen 5 7540U CPU, which has 6 cores and 12 threads and is shown in the BAPCo CrossMark benchmark results information, is equipped with Radeon 740M graphics (Logical Processors). x64 architecture and 16 GB of quad-channel DDR5-6400 memory are used.
The data also reveals that Microsoft Windows 11 Pro was installed on the test system, which had a screen resolution of 2240 x 1400 pixels. Scores from Nero AI’s Score! Benchmarking PC application provide additional leverage for confirming the new processor.
Due to the date the research was conducted one month earlier, the information does not specifically identify the model. The data also shows that no modifications were made between the engineering sample and the tests that were finalised, indicating that the new processor’s integrated graphics specifications have been confirmed. The RDNA3 architecture is used by AMD’s Radeon 740M Graphics, which are expected to perform worse than the company’s 780M and 760M integrated graphics.
