According to insider information from Golden Pig Upgrade on Bilibili, the Radeon 800M “RDNA 3.5” iGPUs have shown impressive results in early benchmarks. Tested on MSI’s Ryzen AI 300-powered laptops at Computex 2024, these next-generation GPUs deliver a substantial improvement over their RDNA 3 “Radeon 700M” predecessors.

Early Benchmarks and Performance Insights

While the showcased MSI laptops were engineering samples and not final products, they featured the flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU. This configuration boasts 12 cores based on the Zen 5 core architecture, 24 threads, and the top-tier Radeon 890M iGPU with 16 compute units (CUs).

In 3DMark Time Spy Graphics tests, the Radeon 890M, with its 16 CUs clocked at approximately 2900 MHz, scored over 3600 points. This puts it in close proximity to the performance levels of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 2050 (Laptop) GPU. Additionally, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU demonstrated impressive results in Cinebench R23, achieving over 2000 points in single-core performance and surpassing 20,000 points in multi-threaded tests. This marks a more than 20% improvement in overall CPU performance compared to the previous generation.

Final Performance Expectations

Given that these benchmarks are based on early engineering silicon and without finalized TDP (Thermal Design Power) details, it’s anticipated that the final retail versions will offer even higher performance levels. Optimized drivers and further refinements could push the Radeon 800M series to outperform initial expectations, making them a compelling choice for integrated graphics solutions in laptops.

Stay tuned for more updates as AMD prepares to launch these powerful iGPUs, which are poised to set new standards in integrated graphics performance.
