According to the most recent information posted on LinkedIn’s employment site, AMD is hiring additional developers. They are currently looking for “chip system verification engineers” to assist in the development of Xbox, PlayStation, and the latest RDNA architecture chips.

Developing the Next-Generation

Their primary responsibility is to aid in the development of next-generation chip projects. According to reports, the team is based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The engineer will be in charge of designing the next-generation complicated SoC, as well as playing a vital role in SOC verification and working with the AMD team on the next-generation chip development project.

Foreign media assume that this means Sony and Microsoft are working on the next-generation host platform, which may be an enhanced version of the Xbox Series X|S, a new PS Slim, or a PS6. There is currently no information about the next generation of consoles, however, IT House will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

AMD’s New Design for Chips

Given previous rules, big manufacturers frequently begin filing and development two years before the release. It’s fairly frequent in the console industry. After all, the chip is one of the most crucial components of the console, so this is the most difficult aspect of the job. It takes a long time to design a decent chip, and I’m hoping that the new host platform will not disappoint.

It’s worth noting that the team will be involved in the design and development of AMD’s latest generation of RDNA family GPU chips in addition to the XSX|S and PS5 chips, so we can assume that the new generation of hosts and AMD’s new generation of Radeon graphics cards/ Ryzen processors will have a similar architecture.
