AMD might launch a new Radeon PRO graphics card next Wednesday

On January 15th, 2022, the official AMD Radeon PRO Twitter account uploaded a video announcing a mystery announcement. “Be one of the first to know more,” reads the Tweet’s content. Outside of the five-second video, there were no hashtags, emoticons, or other characters in the tweet.

According to the website VideoCardz, AMD is teasing an unveiling of their new Radeon PRO workstation graphics card. The camera gently pans around the jewels before transitioning to a different angle to show us more of the golden crown and then showing the date “2022.01.19” before fading to a black background with only the date and AMD’s logo in the top corner.

A tiara is worn by female royalty figures as a sign of marriage. The gemstones are unknown, but their blue color suggests that they are sapphires, which are typically found in royal tiaras alongside diamonds and other jewels and gemstones. The motif can also be found in royal circles, particularly in tiaras worn by queens. Sapphires are more expensive than tanzanite, which is a bright blue gemstone.

According to Videocardz, the news could be tied to the Workstation Radeon Pro W6400 graphics card, which would be the fastest and most efficient in its class. We don’t yet know the exact specifications of this chip, but it’s likely to use an entry-level RDNA 2 GPU like the Navi 24, which will be available shortly on AMD’s Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 graphics cards.

Sadly this is not a high-end GPU, but a budget workstation W6400 card.

It's a king of its class, hence the crown. 🤦‍♂️ https://t.co/IOVcyh3zAa

All of this is purely hypothetical. Before AMD’s announcement on Wednesday, there has been no official news or leaks about what product it will release. We’ll have to wait another four days to see what AMD has to say to the general audience.
