It is no doubt that AMD has steadily been expanding its GPU presence since it launched the RX 6000 series which made them compete toe-to-toe against NVIDIA. Now, as the new-gen RDNA3 is here it is not that AMD is completely discarding its old RDNA2 GPUs but instead giving heavy discounts across its entire portfolio.
The old RX 6800 XT is available for around Rs.50k in India and $549 elsewhere and the RX 6700 XT is cheaper than the RTX 3060 Ti everywhere. Even the OEM variants with great thermals and being overclocked are delivering better rasterization performance than NVIDIA but where AMD lacks is in terms of ray tracing.
AMD’s FSR 2.2 has already improved by huge standards and it’s upcoming FSR 3.0 is coming next year to further improve the performance. As of now, AMD has launched only the flagship RX 7900 series GPUs which start at $899 and at launch will be even more expensive but way cheaper than the RTX 4090.
Now, as per Linus’s latest video where he has described how some fine tuning has made the older RX 6800 XT even better than the RTX 3090s, it is evident that even after two years of launch these Radeon cards are worth buying. Someone who wants the best bang for the back can indeed look for an AMD card anywhere for cheap prices and confidently you can buy them.
