AMD Extends 3rd Gen EPYC CPU Lineup to Deliver New Levels of Value

Thanks to it EPYC CPUs and server products, AMD is predicted to grow its market share to close to 40% by the end of 2024. AMD’s Data Centre sector stayed steady during its most recent earnings, garnering a net revenue of $1.295 billion US dollars compared to $1.293 billion US dollars previous year.

This was regarded as a significant victory in comparison to Intel, which saw its Data Centre revenue decline by 39%. Despite a slowing market, AMD highlighted strong double-digit growth in cloud sales, the launch of 28 new AMD-powered instances, and overall EPYC lineup traction.

AMD EPYC

AMD also recently debuted its 4th Generation EPYC CPU family, called Genoa, and is gearing up for the launch of its next generations, dubbed Genoa-X, Bergamo, and Siena. This is AMD’s most comprehensive EPYC CPU lineup to date, with devices aimed at a wide variety of consumers.

The new and improved product line is expected to propel AMD’s server market share to new heights in the coming quarters.

As of 2022, AMD has a market share of near to 20% and maintained its second place behind Intel, which has a market share of 70%, despite the fact that the business has seen its share decrease over the last several quarters and has been working to get it back in the black ever since EPYC launched. Its most recent efforts were the Sapphire Rapids chips, which would be followed by Emerald Rapids before the end of the year.

According to BRAID experts, the chip maker is on track to achieve up to 30% market share by the end of 2023 and will eventually reach close to 40% by the end of 2025. Siena, a TCO-optimized solution with top performance per watt and scalability possibilities, is the most powerful weapon in the 2024 product portfolio.

This, combined with Bergamo’s push for extreme cloud native computing and high-end data-centric performance, will be a game changer for the company. You may think of Genoa as a teaser, and given how well Genoa has performed in comparison to Intel’s new Sapphire Rapids processors, Bergamo, Genoa-X, and Siena will further strengthen AMD’s position in the server market.
