Amazon conducted a new event today where it unveiled several smart home solutions apart from its standard set of Amazon products. The smart home solutions company Blink was one of the brands that introduced some of its new products.
Blink unveiled three products during the event, a smart doorbell camera, the Blink Floodlight Camera, and the Blink Solar Panel Mount.
The Blink Video Doorbell is the company’s first-ever smart doorbell camera and it has a decent $49 price tag. The video doorbell can be installed as either a wired connection or a wireless device.
The device comes with two-year battery life, the device also comes with the capability to shoot 1080p HD videos both day and night. The Blink smart doorbell camera has a two-way audio system; offers chime app alerts and can be interfaced with existing home chimes.
The Blink Floodlight Camera is a battery-powered outdoor camera that can function as a motion-triggered floodlight. The source of lighting is an LED mount and is priced at $39. The Third Blink product is the Solar Panel Mount, which supplies solar power to the Blink outdoor.
The products are available on Amazon for pre-order only for US residents at present.
We can expect the devices to be available globally real soon, a bundle of all the devices is also available on Amazon.com.
Considering the pricing, the new Blink smart home offerings may be a bigger hit than expected. The Blink’s long-lasting video doorbell is far less expensive than the corresponding Ring product.
Only time will tell to be seen how durable the products may be, despite Blink’s claims.
