Alpha Slows on Wednesday, But Rs 50 Crore Club Still Beckons

The spy drama that had a rocky pre-release buzz is still finding its footing at the box office. Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, collected Rs. 2.50 crore on its first Wednesday, marking a 28% drop from Monday’s numbers, yet the film continues its steady march toward a bigger milestone.

How Is Alpha Performing?

Directed by Shiv Rawail, the movie has taken its six-day running total to Rs. 43 crore nett at the Indian box office. The Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer is expected to close its first week around Rs. 45-47 crore, before marching toward the Rs. 50 crore club.

Backed by Yash Raj Films, Alpha will face competition from Dhamaal 4 starting this weekend, and how it holds up will shape the rest of its theatrical run. Based on current trends, the film looks set to wind up its entire run around Rs. 60-70 crore nett — a decent number given the pre-release negativity, though not quite enough to call it a truly successful run.
