“Along for the Ride”: Everything We Know About Netflix’s Rom-Com Film

Netflix reveals the official trailer of ‘Along for the Ride’. It has been added to the Netflix collection of teen romcoms on Netflix and also become such a live-action adaptation of Sarah Dessen’s novel having that exact name. Netflix also has been optioned to the four of Dessen’s work for such adaptation and also become the first one to be given the green light for the production.

 This Netflix teen adaptation has been written by Sofia Alvarez who also earlier worked along with Netflix on To All the Boys I’ve Loved  Before and its two sequels like the Eric  Andre  FXX series  Man  Seeking Woman. Alvarez is also directing the film and it is also set to make her first directorial debut.

This project has been producing Arcade’s Bryan Unkeless and Eric Newman along with Alyssa Rodrigues, Sian MacArthur, and  Erika Hampson as then executive producers.

Along for the Ride: Plot

The story of the film is based on the 2009 young adult novel of the same name by Sarah  Dessen who also peened such 15 books in the category. In 2017, Dessen got the American Library Association’s Margaret A., Edwards  Award for such a significant and also ever-lasting contribution to young adult literature. We have mentioned that it is one of four of Dessen’s novels to be optioned by Netflix. It seems that the other three are This Lullaby, Once and For All, and The Truth About Forever.

It reveals about the summer before the college as Auden meets such strange Eli who is a kind insomniac while the seaside own of Colby sleeps with the two embarking on to the highly quest to help Auden experiences the fun, carefree life of a teenager as she never has been known that what she wanted for.

 It also reveals that the nights have always been the time of Auden and giving her the chance to flee from everything that was going around her. After that, she also meets Eli, a fellow insomniac as he becomes her nocturnal tour guide. Now along with such an endless supply of the summer nights in between them along with anything that can happen.

Netflix already declared the main and also the supporting cast of the movie that contains such a mix of the established actors and also the newcomers alike. It features Emma Pasarow as the protagonist Auden,  Belmont Cameli as the love interest Eli. Andie MacDowell as Auden’s mother, Kate  Bosworth as her stepmother Heidi and Dermot Mulroney as Auden’s father.

There are also many supporting roles containing Laura Karuiki, Genevieve Hannelius as Leah, Samia Finnerty as Esther, Paul Karmiyan as Adam, Marcus Scribner as Wallace, and Riccardo Hurtado as Jake.

Along for the Ride: Production Status

It is reported that t5he shooting of Along for the Ride started on April 22nd 290021, in California Beach, North Carolina, and will be continued in Wilmington, Kure  Beach, and  Oak Island. The Production wrapped on June 4, 2021. The maximum shooting had been done at night as much like the plot is revolved around night-time adventures in between their two insomniac characters.

The shooting wrapped up on 15th November 2022.

Along for the Ride: Release Date

Netflix currently unveiled the film preview for 2022  and also one of the announcements has been made to premiere on Netflix on 22nd April 2022 on Friday. The trailer of the film dropped on 24th March with a caption: ”The summer before college Auden meets  the mysterious Eli, a fellow insomniac While the seaside town of Co0lby sleeps, the  two embark on to the  nightly quest  to help; Auden experience the fun, carefree  along with teen life as she never knew she wanted.”
