Indian edtech platform AlmaBetter (https://www.almabetter.com/) has announced a strategic partnership with NASSCOM to train and certify 2 lakh professionals in artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies by fiscal year 2030. The initiative is supported by a new round of strategic funding, with AlmaBetter securing INR 2 Crores from a High Net Worth Individual (HNI) educationist. These funds are designated for expanding skilling initiatives and national outreach.
The collaboration addresses a notable talent gap in India’s digital sector. According to the NASSCOM AI Talent Demand–Supply Report, the demand for digital talent in AI and Big Data Analytics is approximately eight times the available fresh talent pool. This challenge is further underscored by the ManPowerGroup Global Talent Shortage Survey, which reported that 82% of Indian employers struggle to find adequately skilled talent.

AlmaBetter Bridging the Digital Talent Gap
Under the new partnership, AlmaBetter’s specialized programs will be integrated into NASSCOM’s national skilling ecosystem, which includes the government-backed FutureSkills Prime platform. Participants, comprising both learners and working professionals, will receive joint certification from NASSCOM and AlmaBetter, aligned with National Occupational Standards (NOS). The programs are designed to provide access to real-world industry projects, mentorship, and structured career pathways, preparing individuals for roles in emerging technology fields.
The formalization of this partnership followed the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where policymakers and industry stakeholders emphasized the need for a robust AI talent pipeline. Program Offerings and Expansion
AlmaBetter will deliver project-based learning programs covering key technology domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Cloud Computing, Quantum Computing, and Data Analytics. The NASSCOM-certified curriculum is developed in collaboration with industry practitioners, emphasizing practical application and real-world deployment scenarios.
The initiative also seeks to broaden access to emerging technology careers for diverse groups, including women professionals, first-generation technology aspirants, career transitioners, and individuals from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. By establishing a verified talent pool with NASSCOM-recognized credentials, the partnership intends to support enterprises in hiring professionals equipped to drive AI-led transformation across various sectors.
