Alienware restore its eGPU with Concept Polaris

It has been eulogized that the ending of Alienware’s graphics is the amplifier in the middle of 2021 while Dell has discontinued it, but there is the company that will come to the space with the Concept Polaris. This concept is basically a liquid-cooled external graphics window doe early 2022. It seems that Alienware does not have that price, but the specifications and designs also might pay a premium that is worth it for some of the people.

Alienware on eGPUs

If you are very unfamiliar with this idea of an eGPU then it will also help you to enhance the graphical power of your laptop. It will provide the right ports and also assume that you can also get your hands with the powerful desktop GPU for putting into a separate enclosure.

Now, the Alienware team also has been stated that the Polaris can connect with laptops through Thunderbolt 4, but the press release that we had been given ahead of CES like dancing around the connectivity completely. It seems that Thunderbolt 4 also would make such perfect sense provided the new laptops, containing the Alienware X14, at least one of the ports. It indicates, theoretically, work with such laptops from the other makers.

It is definitely a big change from such previous Alienware eGPUs that has been relied on the proprietary port for connecting the older Alienware laptops.

It seems that connecting Polaris can house a full-size, 16-inch desktop graphics card that is like Nvidia RTX 3090, and also has the right card, it also should be able to provide the vastly enhanced graphical performance to laptops that also provide the support eGPUs.

While connecting with the Alienware laptop, the concept is you can also be able to update things on the Polaris just like the color of its LEDs also like to control its power levels and also the temperature limit.

This eGPU from Alienware, Polaris trying to fit the supply of the power within such confine of the enclosure. It contains two plugs of external power bricks, and Alienware says it has been iterated on to the models that contain two 330W AC adapters or two 425W AC adapters.

This latest concept Polaris is featuring USB-A and USB –C ports, it also has a 2.5 gigabit Ethernet port. Alienware confesses it can support USB 4, that is allowing higher data theoretically and power bandwidth.

Alienware simply was not ready to launch it in time for CES 2022.

A big thanks for the source.
