Alia Bhatt Sister Engagement: Shaheen Bhatt Says “Yes” to Ishaan Mehra — and the Internet Is Weeping (in the Best Way)

Alia Bhatt Sister Engagement: Some love stories quietly unfold in the background — until one day, they burst into full bloom for the world to see.

That’s exactly what happened today when Shaheen Bhatt, writer, producer, and sister of Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt, announced her engagement to long-time beau Ishaan Mehra. And the Bhatt family’s reaction? Pure, unfiltered joy.

The Post That Broke the Internet

Shaheen dropped a dreamy series of Instagram photos on Friday, including one where she is seen flaunting her engagement ring while holding Ishaan close, and another where she rests her head on his shoulder.

Her caption? Understated, witty, and perfectly her:

“We may have overdone this whole liking each other thing.”

The post went viral within minutes — and Alia Bhatt did not hold back. The actress reshared the post on her Instagram Stories, writing “Currently weeping” alongside a flood of red heart emoticons, and spammed the comment section with love.

Their mother, Soni Razdan, called the couple “pieces of my heart.” Parineeti Chopra commented, “The Unbreakable Vow!”, Zoya Akhtar wrote, “Congos and bongos,” and Ananya Panday showered Shaheen with heart emojis and warm wishes.

Who Is Ishaan Mehra?

Not every love story needs a film credit to be impressive. Ishaan Mehra is a former international swimmer who represented India at the Youth Asian Games. After retiring from competitive swimming, he transitioned into the fitness world and is now a full-time fitness trainer and ATG-certified coach, helping clients build strength, mobility, and overall fitness.

While Ishaan has largely stayed out of the limelight, his relationship with Shaheen has now brought him into the public eye.

Engagement Snapshot

Shaheen Beyond the Spotlight

The Alia Bhatt sister engagement news comes at an exciting time professionally, too. Shaheen recently announced her new project, Don’t Be Shy!, which she will co-produce with Alia under their banner Eternal Sunshine Productions, in association with Chalkboard Entertainment. Directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the film is expected to release in October 2026.

The timing carries a sweet symmetry — the engagement comes just days after Alia Bhatt celebrated her fourth wedding anniversary with Ranbir Kapoor. Love, it seems, is having a very good week in the Bhatt household.

Final Word

Shaheen Bhatt has always carved her own space — as an author, a mental health advocate, and now a producer. Her engagement to Ishaan Mehra feels as genuine and unhurried as the relationship itself.

No dramatic reveal. No PR spectacle. Just a girl, a ring, and a caption that made a billion people smile.

Here’s to the next chapter, Shaheen and Ishaan.
