Akshay Kumar Gets 25 More Episodes on Wheel of Fortune!

Just when you thought Akshay Kumar’s plate couldn’t get any fuller — films, OTT, brand endorsements — comes the news that his game show stint just got a whole lot longer. According to exclusive reports, Wheel of Fortune has been so well-received by audiences that the makers have extended Akshay’s contract by 25 additional episodes, taking his total TV run on the show to a solid 65 episodes. And yes, it will stream on Sony LIV too, making his small-screen comeback truly unmissable.

Why This Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds

A 25-episode extension isn’t just a scheduling update — it’s a strong commercial vote of confidence. Shows get extended when advertisers are happy, ratings are climbing, and audiences keep tuning in. All three boxes are clearly ticked for Wheel of Fortune.

What makes Akshay’s television track record genuinely impressive is how consistent it’s been. He was the original host of Khatron Ke Khiladi, practically building the stunt-reality genre in India before it became mainstream. He later hosted and judged MasterChef India Season 1 alongside Kunal Kapur and Ajay Chopra. Both stints were successful and memorable. Wheel of Fortune is now his third major TV conquest — and arguably his most mainstream one yet, given it targets a broad family audience rather than a specific niche.

For Sony Entertainment Television, this is also a landmark moment. After the enduring dominance of Kaun Banega Crorepati on rival Star Plus, Wheel of Fortune gives Sony its second genuine primetime game show hit — and that’s no small achievement in today’s fragmented TV landscape.
