Akka OTT Release: Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte Rule a Gold-Smuggling Sisterhood

What if the most feared crime bosses in town weren’t men in the shadows, but a circle of powerful women? That’s the bold hook of Akka, a period thriller that could land on your screen very soon.

Akka OTT Release: Overview

When Can You Watch It?

A report by Movies Singapore suggests Akka will premiere on OTT on October 30, 2026. The makers unveiled its first look back in 2025. However, the streaming platform hasn’t made an official announcement yet, so treat the date as a strong rumor rather than a promise.

Welcome to Pernuru, 1980s?

The story unfolds in the fictional South Indian town of Pernuru, where women hold the political, social and economic power. At the top sits an elite sisterhood called the Akkas, matriarchs who control a lucrative underground gold-smuggling trade. They rule through fear and loyalty, backed by an army of women trained to fight and guard the sisterhood’s wealth and honor.

The Outsider With a Vendetta

Their empire looks unshakable until a mysterious outsider arrives with a deeply personal grudge. She doesn’t attack head-on. Instead, she quietly exploits the Akkas’ rivalries and internal cracks. Alliances fracture, violence spreads, and a personal revenge story grows into a brutal fight for power, ideology and survival.

It’s a fresh flip on the gangster genre, and having Radhika Apte in the mix adds serious acting weight. Keerthy Suresh was last seen in Dorothy and has Rowdy Janardhana and Sathyavan Savithri coming up.
