Tottenham Hotspur have received an official bid from Ajax for Steven Bergwijn. The Eredivisie champions have had their opening bid rejected, since the Premier League side are demanding around €25 million for the winger to leave in the summer.

Ajax wanted to sign the Netherlands international during the January transfer window as well. But, they failed to reach an agreement with Spurs on the deal. They have revived their interest in the player now, and Tottenham are ready to let him go this summer. However, their asking price is seemingly fixed.

Steven Bergwijn has agreed personal terms with Ajax

The former PSV Eindhoven winger has agreed a five-year deal with Ajax, and would be moving to his once-rivals if the two clubs can agree on a transfer fee. He is currently behind in the pecking order, with Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min being clear favourites in the starting line-up.

Owing to his demands for regular playing time, Steven Bergwijn is ready to move back to the Eredivisie. And Antonio Conte is also ready to let the 24-year-old leave and return back to his home country, since there is a low chance for him to get regular playing time under the Italian.

Tottenham have already unveiled Ivan Perisic as their first signing of the summer, who could be a like for like replacement for the Dutchman. The former Inter Milan winger can’t match Bergwijn for pace, but has all the technical ability needed to be a solid rotational option.
