After Unacademy, CRED also signs as the official sponsor of IPL 2020

After getting Dream11 as the title sponsor, a couple of days ago, the renowned ed-tech company also signed as one of two official sponsors of IPL 2020. Now BCCI gets CRED as their second official sponsor of this year’s IPL. CRED is a very renowned Credit Card payment company has been signed as the official partner for the IPL 2020. Now this year’s IPL is all set and filled up with all three partnerships.

“We are extremely pleased that we have filled 2 official partnership slots. This clearly shows the inherent strength of brand IPL. Our only deficit this year will be on account of Title Sponsorship which we lost out due to unfortunate and unprecedented circumstances” declared by the BCCI official.

As per estimates, BCCI will earn Rs 120 crores from three partnership slots filled by Tata Motors, Unacademy, and CRED. When Dream11 is selected for the title sponsor of IPL 2020, there were two vacant slots for the official sponsors. Unacademy has signed for 3 years as IPL central sponsor and will shell out in the range of Rs 120-130 crores for the period. The official announcement will reveal soon by BCCI.

“The deal with Unacademy is completed for 3 years. We will make the official announcement soon”, confirmed the BCCI official.

Though, some processing is still left to approve CRED as the official sponsor. According to the sources, the proposed deal is yet to get the approvals for the debate within the IPL GC that the line of the business company operates in conflicts with the existing sponsor which is PayTM.

Title Sponsor – Dream11 – Rs 222 crores

Official Partners – Tata Motors, Unacademy, Cred – Rs 120 crores

Umpire Partner – PayTm – Ts 28 crores

Strategic Timeout partner – CEAT – Rs 30 crores
