Adam Lallana will be working as the interim manager for Brighton alongside U21 coach Andrew Crofts for their game against Bournemouth. He will be making his managerial debut against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The former Liverpool man is out of action for the time being, due to injury. He joins Crofts as the replacement for Graham Potter, who has signed with Chelsea on a five-year contract. Lallana is expected to rejoin the squad in time for the game against his former club on October 1.
Brighton announce Adam Lallana as interim managerÂ
‘While our attention is now on appointing Graham’s successor as head coach our immediate focus, of course, is on Saturday’s game at Bournemouth and supporting Andrew Crofts as interim head coach,’ Brighton chairman Tony Bloom said.
The Seagulls are focused on signing a replacement for Graham Potter, who did an incredible job with the club during his time in charge. Adam Lallana could also become the long-term replacement for Graham Potter at the Amex Stadium, but rarely does a player-manager role work in the way it is expected.
Premier League legends Wayne Rooney and Vincent Kompany have also taken up this role. However, they have endured mixed fortunes during their time in the position. Lallana will probably not be in the same role, since a new head coach will be appointed by the time he is cleared to play.
