Legendary cricketer Shane Warne breathed one last time on March 4 and as per reports he had died of a heart attack.

Warne’s management released a brief statement stating that he passed away in Koi Samui, Thailand.

Achievements of Shane Warne

Warne played cricket for over 16 years and took 1,001 wickets from 339 internationals at an average of 25.51. The tally includes 38 five-wicket hauls and 10 ten fors. He’s among the two bowlers in the world of cricket who had over 1,000 international wickets. He has a total of 708 Test wickets and was the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket till 2007. In 2007, Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan surpassed him with 800 wickets.

 Shane Warne was the first bowler who reached the landmark of taking 700 Test wickets. He has been named twice in the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in the Wisden Cricketers Almanack and has also been elected twice as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World.

Warne also has the record of scoring the highest runs (3154) without a 100.

In IPL, he played for Rajasthan Royals and under his captaincy, the franchise won the inaugural season. On his behalf, it was a spectacular achievement as the team had no star players at that time but the way he led the team it was really commendable.
