Abhijeet Dipke Detained Straight: Inside the Delhi Airport Drama Before CJP’s Jantar Mantar Protest

Some protests begin at the venue. This one began on the runway. On October 10, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke never made it out of his plane before police stepped in.

What Happened at Delhi Airport?

Dipke, along with CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, was detained by police inside an aircraft shortly after landing in Delhi on Saturday. The three had flown in from Mumbai, arriving at around 10.20 am, and a video shared by the CJP showed police taking them into custody before they could get off the plane. madhyamamonlinemadhyamamonline

Where Are They Being Held?

According to a post by Anish Gawande quoted by The Week, the leaders were taken to an undisclosed location inside the airport. Police have not publicly detailed their reasoning in the reports I found, so treat claims from either side with care until official statements arrive. theweek

Conclusion

This didn’t come out of nowhere. Reports on October 10 indicated that more than 200 people, including CJP activists, had been detained in connection with the protest, and police reportedly refused permission for the demonstration. A day earlier, around 1,000 people were reportedly detained across Delhi as police stopped protesters from reaching Jantar Mantar, including former Delhi CM Atishi and Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav. Dipke had also alleged on October 8 that activists were being taken into preventive custody ahead of the event. Newskarnataka +2
