Aaron Rodgers Reveals His Final NFL Chapter

Aaron Rodgers appears to have made his decision about life after football. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has reiterated that the 2026 NFL season is expected to be his final campaign, bringing an end to a remarkable professional career spanning more than two decades.

Aaron Rodgers: A Clear Retirement Plan

Rodgers, 42, previously announced in May that he intended to retire after the 2026 season. Speaking with SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, he offered a glimpse into what he wants from life once his playing career ends.

Rather than immediately moving into another football role, Rodgers said he is looking forward to a quieter life with his wife, Brittani, and hopes to eventually become a father. Importantly, his comments about supporting a “pregnant wife” referred to his hopes for the future, not a current pregnancy.

From Green Bay Legend to Pittsburgh

Rodgers entered the NFL in 2005 after three college seasons at California. He spent his first 18 professional seasons with the Green Bay Packers, winning four MVP awards, a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP honors.

His move to the New York Jets in 2023 was overshadowed by a torn Achilles suffered just four offensive snaps into his first season. After two seasons in New York, Rodgers joined Pittsburgh for the 2025 campaign.

His decision to return for one more season was influenced by Pittsburgh hiring Mike McCarthy, his former Packers head coach. Rodgers signed a one-year deal that could be worth up to $25 million, according to the report.

Family Comes First

Rodgers has increasingly spoken about wanting privacy and a life beyond the demands of professional football. His relationship with Brittani has largely remained private, and he has indicated that spending time with family has strengthened his desire to have children.

With his playing future apparently settled, Rodgers now has one final NFL season to add to an already extraordinary legacy.

For the veteran quarterback, however, the next chapter may be less about another comeback and more about family, privacy and a quieter life away from the spotlight.
