A24’s The Drama Releases a Creepy Wedding Video of Zendaya & Robert Pattinson !

A24 has done it again. Just days before the film hits theaters, they’ve released what looks like an actual home movie from a happy couple’s wedding — except the more you watch it, the more something feels deeply, unsettlingly wrong.

The Drama, one of the most anticipated films of 2026, arrives in theaters on April 3, 2026 — and its marketing campaign is already one for the books.

Everything You Need to Know About The Drama

What Is The Drama Actually About?

The film follows a couple whose relationship is shaken just days before their wedding when one partner discovers unsettling truths about the other. Zendaya plays Emma Harwood, a bookstore clerk from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, while Robert Pattinson plays Charlie Thompson, a British museum director and Emma’s fiancé. Wikipedia

As part of its marketing, A24 placed a fake engagement announcement in The Boston Globe, blurring the lines between fiction and reality and sparking massive social media buzz. W Magazine That was just the warm-up act.

The Wedding Video That Made the Internet Nervous

On March 27, 2026, A24 dropped a wedding clip titled “Charlie and Emma’s Wedding Video” — intimate, happy moments that look exactly like a real home movie.

The video starts exactly like you’d expect a wedding video to, and everything seems normal. However, the way it is edited — with several carefully placed shots — makes the overall feeling progressively more awkward, until the end, when it becomes apparent that things don’t go well. Bleeding Cool

It’s a masterclass in viral marketing. You don’t sell a dark romantic comedy by showing the darkness upfront. You show the love, you let people get comfortable — and then you pull the rug.

Why This Film Is a Very Big Deal

This is the first of three upcoming films pairing Zendaya and Pattinson. They’ll next appear together in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey on July 17, followed by Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three on December 18.

The film is directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the Norwegian filmmaker behind the acclaimed 2023 satire Dream Scenario starring Nicolas Cage, and produced by horror maestro Ari Aster — a combination that practically guarantees The Drama won’t be your average love story.

A24 has long been the studio synonymous with prestige, boundary-pushing cinema — from Hereditary to Everything Everywhere All at Once — and The Drama looks set to continue that tradition.
