We all know IO Interactive mainly as a Hitman franchise and after the release of Hitman 3, the developers revealed about Project 007, which is a James Bond title that is going to delve into the origin of this popular character. Hakan B.Abrak, the CEO recently said in an interview with GamesIndustry that they are working on more than this.
He said, “We’ve created four IPs from scratch. We always have incubation and R&D going, we always have these crazy ideas and worlds and character that we’re thinking of.”
“Without going into too much detail, we have a third universe that we’re working actively on, which is a bit different and absolutely a love child. It is something our core people, our veteran staff, have been dreaming about for some time, so I’m equally excited with this one as with our other two universes”, he added.
According to a new report of Windows Central, this third game could be an Xbox exclusive that is due to be published by Microsoft which is now under development in IO Interactive. Many rumors are suggesting that this game will be a connected world game set in a fantasy world with dragons. The code name of this project appears to be Dragon and Windows Central also reported referring to that, there is a job listing for a Senior UX Designer.
After seeing IO Interactive staffing up for Project 007 and the new title, it seems the game is still several years away. Meanwhile, IO Interactive Barcelona opened up in April to assist the Malmo and Copenhagen offices with Hitman, Project 007, and the new unannounced game.
