Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry bags the top three awards at the ICC Awards of the Decade including ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Decade, ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Decade, and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for ICC Female Cricketer of the Decade.

Ellyse Perry made her debut in 2007 and has become one of the most valuable cricketers for Australia. She was the youngest female cricketer to debut for Australia, as she made her ODI debut in 2007 at the age of 16 years.

In this decade, we saw Ellyse Perry marshal 4349 runs and 213 wickets, including being part of Australi’s squad, which won the T20 World Cup four times and also bagged the 2013 Women’s ODI World Cup. But unfortunately, she couldn’t be a part of this year’s World Cup final because of injury.

Ellyse Perry, who mustered 2621 ODI runs in this decade at an average of 68.97 and took 98 wickets in the going process. Also, in the T20 format of the game, the right-handed batsman has scored 1155 runs at an average of 30.39 and collected 89 wickets.

Ellyse Perry plays for Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League, and is the second-highest run-scorer in the history with 3002 in 85 matches at an average of 52.66 and has also acquired 40 wickets.

A multi-talented person, Ellyse Perry had a career in professional soccer also but later on, she chose to be a cricketer albeit she went to represent the Australia women’s team in the World Cup football.

Not only this, but she has also a list of records to her name as she became the first and only cricketer in history to complete the double of 1,000 runs and 100 wickets in T20I cricket. Also, her most memorable moment was probably in the 2010 ICC T20 World Cup final against New Zealand, when her footballing skills came in handy and helped Australia to win the World Cup.

Her other memorable performance came in the 2013 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in the final in Mumbai against West Indies where she took 3/19 despite struggling with an injury. She played a major role in Australia’s domination of women’s cricket in the last decade and most importantly, she was a key player in Australia’s five World Cup-winning campaigns.
